I am a lifelong Conservative supporter (I won't say how long) and other than casting my vote as and when required had no particular interest in politics until devolution in 1998 gave Scotland a parliament and Wales an assembly. The blatant unfairness of this situation jolted me into joining the Campaign for an English Parliament.
In my everyday life, I was a nurse but thought better of it and am currently working as a Care Advocate for a local company. I'm a wife and Mum so am fairly ordinary really except that campaigning has stretched my personal comfort zones in ways I could never have imagined.
It's interesting how different political events motivate people who have otherwise been rather inactive politically. Blairs devolution didn't really have a focus, which is perhaps why we've ended up in the state we are. Perhaps you could start a thread on it.
